SenseING launches CO2 traffic light for monitoring indoor spaces

The SenseKit.indoor developed by SenseING is a CO2 traffic light for monitoring indoor environmental conditions. Via a visual signal, the unit indicates, for example, when it is time to ventilate the premises.

More topical than ever is just how high the CO₂concentration is indoors.Because regular ventilation in the rooms can significantly reduce the risk of infection with SARS-CoV-2. This is described in a recent statement by the Commission on Indoor Air Hygiene (IRK) at the Federal Environment Agency. CO2 traffic lights can serve as a guide to good or poor ventilation, according to the IRK. Even the use of mobile air purifiers is no substitute for adequate ventilation in schools. A healthy indoor climate in schools also creates an improvement in learning ability of up to 15 % (source: umweltbundesamt.de).

Even before the pandemic, the indoor climate was very important. The ability of pupils, students, employees and colleagues to learn and concentrate depends very much on the ambient conditions. The health department has already defined limit values for this, including sound pressure levels and brightness, for example.

The SenseKit.indoor can also monitor these parameters.

One of the largest business incubators in Germany awards SenseING as founder of the month

The KIT incubator was founded in 2013 and is now one of the largest university incubators in Germany. They bundle all activities on the topics of founding and entrepreneurship to achieve more impact for their founding teams.

Yesterday, the Minister of Economics Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut and State Secretary Katrin Schütz visited AXEL - the Energy Accelerator at the Technologiefabrik Karlsruhe GmbH. Thereby SenseING had the opportunity to present their start-up!

We are pleased to have qualified for the Team Development of the AXEL Energy Accelerator with our vision of the energy self-sufficient sensor kit.

The AXEL Energy Accelerator is an initiative of fokus.Energie e. v. and offers different support programs for energy start-ups.

AXEL's mentors have an extensive network of their own. Together with the numerous contacts from the fokus.energie network, the conditions are in place to provide the founders with support in the acquisition of pilot applications and reference orders.

That's why we are delighted to have made it into the selection of startups for this year's Accelerator program. In the twelve-month program, the teams benefit from regular workshop and coaching sessions as well as intensive mentoring from experienced mentors from the energy sector. In addition to business learning and active support in product development, the Accelerator also offers corresponding know-how in the area of public relations.

The Accelerator Program enables us to shorten long product development and marketing cycles.
