The managing directors Sven Kruse and Kiryl Deschuk were born with a passion for technology. Already in their early childhood, they dealt with complex mechatronic systems. Their paths then crossed while studying mechatronics and information technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

During their studies, they came up with the business idea of individually adapted measuring units, with which they were able to convince at the hackathon of the wbk Institute for Production Technology of KIT. After completing their studies, Sven Kruse, Kiryl Deschuk and Ivo Frank founded the start-up SenseING to further develop the initial idea. This was followed by twelve months of funding as part of an EXIST start-up grant from the BMWi and the ESF, during which the business idea developed from a start-up into a young company thanks to numerous coaching measures.
